Chateau Phelan Segur

The fruit for Phélan Ségur’s wines comes from the haloed terroir of SaintEstèphe in the Medoc on Bordeaux’s Left Bank. Phélan Ségur has 70 hectaresunder vine, of which over half are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon whichthrives on the Left Bank, perhaps better than any other region on earth. Theregion’s soil comprises a thick layer of gravel with pebbles and above all thegravels coated with clay sands.The Château handpicks all its fruit and has dedicated tanks to fermentjuice from each of its 39 vineyard parcels. Château Phélan Ségur reveals thepurity of the fruit, the accuracy of its structure, the silkiness of its tannins,all with a natural freshness. After long ageing, it reveals a bouquet of a rarecomplexity, the oak harmoniously integrated.
