Quinta do Ameal

Quinta do Ameal is a prime flagbearer of high quality white wines in Portugal’snorth. The family estate is based in the famous Vino Verde’s sub region of Lima,best known for indigenous grape Loureiro. The grape carpets all of the estate’s 14hectares of vineyard which are organically farmed by owner Pedro Araújo. Araujo’sfather planted the vines which he has now nurtured for over two decades. Thegrape thrive in Quinta do Ameal’s granite soils and benefits from cool oceanicbreeze. The classic estate style of Loureiro shows lively grape and brightacidity. Araujo has ensured high quality by picking less than 5 tonnes of grapeper hectare while other producers take out 15.
