Carignan is a black-skinned wine grape variety, native to the Spanish region of Aragon. The wine has traditionally found favour with winemakers in Spain’s northeast and France’s Languedoc Roussillon region along the Mediterranean coast, which provides the ideal terroir to produce a vintage style.
