‘Les Charmes-Dessus' is a Meursault Premier Cru of the highest order, ,a prestigious appellation in Burgundy. It highlights the finesse and complexity of a wine aged on lees. For 18 months, this Chardonnay is aged on lees - those dead yeasts at the bottom of the barrel that enrich its bouquet and contribute to the fullness of its body. The handpicked wines are gently crushed in a pneumatic press followed by barrel fermentation and barrel ageing for 14 months. Head winemaker Eric Germain has honed and mastered this Chardonnay style for over two decades and lays particular emphasis on highlighting the acidic character and saline hints on a palate rich in citrus, pear, honey and flint.
