There are 15,000 cases of Honig's affordably priced 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon. While it may not make you see stars, it's a solid value play (for Napa Valley), matching mixed cherries with mocha and cedar shadings and some loamy notes. It's medium to full-bodied, nicely weighted and textured, with a silky finish.

TASTING NOTES

Currant, plum and black raspberry aromas are intermingled with a mélange of black pepper, nutmeg, and whisper of dried herbs. The aromas flow through to similar flavors on the palate. Sweet oak pulls it all together, complementing the lush textures.

Bottle Story+

Cabernet Sauvignon is simply indivisible from Napa Valley's humungous success as a wine phenomenon. Our Honig Vineyards, Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 is almost as good as it gets California's Napa Valley has built most of its reputation on the back of the Cabernet Sauvignon so spectacularly so as to draw the envy of the French who bind themselves by law to only blend it. Pity, the Napa Valley oenologists would remark, having fashioned a superb barrel aged opulent style bursting with ripe fruit and perfect phenolic expression thanks to quality soils, copious sunshine and positive oceanic influence. The historic Judgement of Paris highlighted the capacity of Napa's reds to impress and this red, produced in the vicinity of a certain Stags Leap winery, is a great instance of vintage Napa ‘Cab'.

Please store all wines between 12 to 15 degrees Celsius.

Wines under cork are best opened using a corkscrew.

Remove the foil using the corkscrew’s foil cutter and insert the spirally corkscrew into the center of the cork.

Twist in clockwise motion until the corkscrew is entirely inside.

Rest the corkscrew’s lever on the bottle’s lip and pull the handle to bring out the cork.

To get the perfect serving temperature for red wine, store in fridge for up to 2 hours to serve at 16 to 18 degrees C.

Serve red wine in a classic red wine glass that allows the wine to release its range of aromas and flavours.
