TASTING NOTES

The nose is complex and alluring, offering redcurrant, black cherry and red plum aromas with whiffs of Herbes de Provence, Cape fynbos and clay dust. The red stone fruit of the nose follows through with flavours of youngberry, boysenberry and notes of lead pencil, pipe tobacco and tealeaf on a smooth palate. Fine-grained powdery tannins contribute to a certain nervosity on the midpalate, juxtaposed against the opulence of fragrant fruit, firm acidity and smoky cedarwood undertones from integrated French oak. Vibrant berry fruit persists on a clean, focused finish.

Bottle Story+

Cabernet Sauvignon is South Africa's leading red wine star and Stellenbosch is where the French noble grape shines brightest, especially in the hands of Boekenhoutskloof's cult winemaker, Marc Webb who has mastered the indigenous style and intimately knows the Stellenbosch terroir. He has selected and harvested particular parcels on the slopes of the heldeberg and vlottenburg mountains, rich in granite and sandstone, which soak in the maritime winds, imbuing the grapes with remarkable concentration of flavours. This house label portrays seven chairs made from the wood of Boekenhout, an indigenous Cape Beech tree greatly prized for making fine furniture, paying tribute to legendary chair craftsman and underlining the high quality of the ferment, still getting better in the bottle

Taste

Please store all wines between 12 to 15 degrees Celsius.

Wines under cork are best opened using a corkscrew.

Remove the foil using the corkscrew’s foil cutter and insert the spirally corkscrew into the center of the cork.

Twist in clockwise motion until the corkscrew is entirely inside.

Rest the corkscrew’s lever on the bottle’s lip and pull the handle to bring out the cork.

To get the perfect serving temperature for red wine, store in fridge for up to 2 hours to serve at 16 to 18 degrees C.

Serve red wine in a classic red wine glass that allows the wine to release its range of aromas and flavours.
