South Africa, FranschhoekTASTING NOTES
The nose is rich, perfumed and intense with its abundance of red and dark fruits, heady whiffs of violets and rosé petals. Blueberries, dark plums and black cherries follow through onto a bold, plush palate with hints of iodine and cured meat adding to the layered complexity. The midpalate is smooth and opulent, with an earthy core, balanced acidity and velvety, ripe tannins. Coriander spice, cloves and plum sauce linger on a juicy, refreshing finish.

Bottle Story+
This South African take on the classic Rhone Valley blend, produced in Swartland expresses a stunning balance between power and fruit driven elegance. Syrah is the dominant grape in the blend, bringing intense dark fruit while Mourvedre brings concentrated colour and Grenache, unmistakable exuberance with floral touches given by a spash of Viognier. always the predominant grape followed by mourvèdre and a splash of Viognier.Winemaker Marc Kent gets the best out of Swartland's challenging terroir which entails lot hot months and paucity of water. The hardworking vines though deliver concentrated fruit that Kent turns into a wine with an intense palate of blackberries, blueberries and a whiff of violets and sweet tobacco.
