Robert Parker +

A sleeper of the vintage, the 2011 Meyney possesses an opaque ruby/purple colour as well as a big, sweet bouquet of black olives, black currants, charcoal and earth. Dense and medium to full-boided, this classic St.-Estephe offers good acidity and ripe tannin. It should drink well for 12-15 years.

89

Wine Spectator +

Features a well-buried chalky spine, allowing dark plum and black currant fruit to take the lead, while a smoldering charcoal edge frames the finish. Pleasantly austere, with the fruit to match.

TASTING NOTES

This has concentration and depth, with a very gravelly undertow to the dark plum and cassiss fruit, by a mouthwatering tobacco edge. Shows depth and drive on the finish.

Bottle Story+

This Château Meyney vintage is an allround critics favourite with Bordeaux legend Robert Parker awarding it a cherished 90 points. This wine is produced by a prestigious Chateau in the heart of Medoc, exuding tradition and modern style in equal measure. The estate sits in the picturesque Left Bank commune of Saint-Estèphe. And while Chateau Meyney is hailed as an estate of great history and tradition, its wines surprise with a decidedly modern, delectable style that is expressive and bold with upfront fruit. This Cabernet Sauvignon dominant blend is described by Robert Parker as possessing a deep palate of black fruit, herbs and earthy tones complimented by good acidity and ripe tannins that can still get better with age.

Please store all wines between 12 to 15 degrees Celsius.

Wines under cork are best opened using a corkscrew.

Remove the foil using the corkscrew’s foil cutter and insert the spirally corkscrew into the center of the cork.

Twist in clockwise motion until the corkscrew is entirely inside.

Rest the corkscrew’s lever on the bottle’s lip and pull the handle to bring out the cork.

To get the perfect serving temperature for red wine, store in fridge for up to 2 hours to serve at 16 to 18 degrees C.

Serve red wine in a classic red wine glass that allows the wine to release its range of aromas and flavours.
