Bottle Story+
Blaufranskisch is an indigenous Austrian grape that is almost exclusively grown only in Austria. This underrated and less known grape deserves more credit for its capacity to turn out wines of deep flavour. And that's what the family estate of Heinrich has done successfully in the Austrian region of Burgenland. This sumptuous red wine has been organically vinified and patiently barrel-aged for 18 months and signifies the success story of the Heinrich family that Burgenland-Neusiedlersee from a producer of middling white wine into one now known for high-quality reds. This red is produced from handpicked grapes along Lake Neusiedl at the foot of the limestone rich Leithaberg mountain. The vines are nurtured using organic methods and fermentation is initiated by natural yeast, that imparts a natural and local character to this sublime expression of Austria's most popular homegrown red.
