The real and raging phenomenon of orange wine is the legacy of Stanislao ‘Stanko' Radikon who is one of the pioneers of this exotic style up in Italy's cool north and this wine is his son Sasa's tribute to him, both in name and style. Bottled under the Slatnik label, this blend of Chardonnay and indigenous grape Tocai Friulano is proof of the immense potential of orange wines. The wine's distinct orange colour comes from the extended period of skin contact (maceration) of two weeks followed by a year of barrel ageing. The blend itself expresses flavours of macerated cherries, baked orange peel and roses.
