This wine is the crowning glory of the ambitious project of the Castagnedi brothers who have dedicated this label to their father, Antonio Castagnedi. Amarone della Valpolicella defines the Veneto region for its balance of intensity and flavourful grace. Only the best grapes from thei estate's prime parcels are chosen to make this wine, carefully selected to be set down in the drying room to undergo the Appassimento process. After at least 3 months of drying, the grapes have shriveled and retain a concentration of flavour, sugar and acidity. The classic blend of local grapes Corvina, Rondinella, Oseleta, and Croatina, is barrel aged in French and American oak barriques for about 24 months and expresses an intense palate of black cherries, cocoa and balsamic spices, finishing long.
