Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2014 Virginie de Valandraud offers gorgeous black cherries, mulberries and black raspberry scents with hints of star anise, violets and cumin seed. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is firmly structured with firm, velvety tannins and tons of freshness, lifting the perfumed black fruits to a long finish.

Bottle Story+
Now while Jean-Luc Thunevin is, by his own admission, the original. Bad Boy' of Bordeaux, rebelling against the system and spearheading the region's cult garage wine revolution, the master winemaker respects and nails the Right Bank Bordeaux blend better than most. No surprises then that the Bordeaux blend wine he crafts in Saint-Emilion, classified as Grand Cru, impresses critics and enthusiasts alike, every vintage. Interestingly, this Merlot driven, opulent style is his second wine though it has garnered a major following of its own. The wine has been aged for two years in new oak and regales the palates with blackberry, chocolate and barrel aged finesse.
