Sula Vineyards
Nashik, India
Sula Vineyards, founded by Rajeev Samant in 1999 is widely credited with putting Indian wine on the world map. The first winery to be established in Nashik, Sula focused on producing New World style wines from the outset with Californian winemaker Kerry Damsky at the helm.
Sula planted a number of French varieties and produced a number of still and sparkling wines, becoming a popular household name across India as well as gaining international prominence. In 2008, the Sula became India’s largest wine producer and today bottles a staggering range of wines from entry level easy drinking wines to premium barrel aged reds and sparkling wine produced using the Méthode Traditionnelle.
