Chateau Lagrange
Bordeaux / Saint-Julien, France
Château Lagrange’s story is nothing short of that delectable and inspiring boom to bust to re-emergence story. Today, Château Lagrange lays proud claim to being one of Bordeaux’s largest Grands Crus Classés. This Saint Julien Third Growth under the stewardship of winemaker Bruno Eynard has combined traditional style with modern innovation. Eynard introduced the practice of using small stainless steel tanks to vinify specific vineyard batches and acquired infra-red grape sorting machines. He also stayed true to traditional vinification practices, striking a vital balance that today defines the Château Lagrange style. With 117 hectares atop deep layers of Günzian gravel, Château Lagrange has unfailingly produced wines of deep colour and finesse with a backbone of elegance which is instantly recognized as vintage Bordeaux.
