Château Meyney is an estate of stellar reputation that nestles in theesteemed and picturesque Left Bank commune of Saint-Estèphe. The wineryis recognised as having one of the longest histories in the Médoc ( it wasestablished in 1660) with wines that are surprisingly modern in style. The winesare made under the diligent watch of Hubert de Bouard of the superb ChâteauAngelus. With 51 hectares of prime Medoc vineyards, the estate consistentlyturns out high quality red wines led by Cabernet Sauvignon. The wines are agedin French oak barrels of which 50 per cent are new. Château Meyney’s winesare frequently rated above 90 points and are said to express opulent red fruit,spice and savoury notes, finishing on the back of long supple tannins.
