Chateau Poujeaux
Bordeaux /Médoc, France
Château Poujeaux is a historic 19th century Château situated in Moulis-en Médoc in Bordeaux.. The vineyard covers 52 hectares and produces about25,000 cases of wine per year. Their flagship Bordeaux blend comprises 50%Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. The Château’s vineyard soils are predominantly gravel and are blessed with good elevation. Château Poujeaux enjoyed a significant resurgence of fortune in 2008 when it was sold to the Cuvelier family, who own the Clos Fourtet Château in Saint Emilion on the Right Bank. Under the stewardship of Mathieu Cuvelier, the winemaking facilities and viticulture was modernised. Reduced yields and sustainable viticulture have significantly raised the wine’s quality and the Château’s reputation.
