Colterenzio
Alto Adige, Italy
The Colterenzio winery is a wine grower cooperative, based in the Sudtirolregion of Alto Adige in Northern Italy, bordering Austria where it first began itswinemaking journey in 1960. The winery receives grapes from over 300 localgrape-growing families. Coltrenzio takes a modern approach to wine making withover four ranges of wines encompassing over 12 Italian and French noble grapes. The wines are aged both in steel tanks and oak barrels. White wine accountsfor more than 65 per cent of its total production. These wines are full-bodied,elegant and produced to be capable of great ageing. The wine generally has bothcomplexity and the capacity to age due to the time spent on its lees and in oak.As well as using green energy, the newer parts of the winery have been designedto blend with the natural environment.
