Kara Tara is a boutique winery founded by award winning winemaker Rüdgervan Wyk) and José Conde of Stark-Condé Wines. Kara-Tara in local lingo means“deep dark shadows” and is is based in Elgin Valley, South Africa’s coolestwine region. The estate vineyards benefit from cool temperature and allowswinemaker van Wyk to grow late ripening grapes in the region’s clay soil.van Wyk has successfully put his his experience of harvesting a vintage inBurgundy to work in producing an exceptional Chardonnay and Pinot Noir inElgin Valley.
