Loimer
Kamptal, Austria
Loimer is one of Austria’s most notable modern family estates based in the sun drenched and cool region of Kamptal. Alfred Loimer established the winery in 1964 in the northern region of Kamptal, planting vineyards in nutrient rich soil. His son Fred took over in 1998, introducing his own creative insight by barrel ageing Gruner Vetliner, Austria’s local and very popular white wine. He is extremely particular about maintaining the house’s philosophy of terroir identity, having divided up the estate’s vineyards into 100 separate parcels. No surprise then that Loimer gets high praise for its white wine vintages, especially the Gruner Vetliner and Riesling.
