A classic old vine Pinot Noir vinified in the red wine heart of Burgundy's honoured Meursault region is a rare ferment, marrying elegance and complexity. Vincent Girardin has produced this stellar wine from fruit grown on 85 year old vines. Red wines in this region are referred to as Volnay Santenots and dotted on by critics as a ‘feminine Pinot'. The vineyards are rooted in red clay and limestone soils on gentle slopes. The handpicked grapes are crushed and barrel fermented and barrel aged for 15 months, evolving a graceful palate of rich fruit, earthy tones and sweet spice, crowned by elegance and structure.
