Grover Zampa
Bengaluru, India
Grover is hailed as one of India’s pioneering wineries and the first ever to open in the southern Indian state of Karnataka more than thirty years ago. Grover was founded by Kanwal Grover in 1988 after developing a passion for fine wines during his business visits to France. He roped in legendary French wine consultant Michel Rolland to help craft a unique Indian style in vineyards at Nandi Hills near Bengaluru.
And in subsequent years Grover emerged as the flagbearer of quality Indian wines, producing wines from noble French varieties, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc. The Grovers La Reserve, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz is widely considered to be India’s first premium red wine.
