Bodegas Mauro

Bodegas Mauro is the brainchild of one of Spain’s most famous and experiencedwine makers, Mariano Garcia. Mariano established Bodegas Mauro in 1978 in theRibera del Duero region after producing more than 30 vintages for one of Spain’smost prestigious estates, Vega Sicilia. The self-taught wine maker planted 70hectares of Tempranillo and Syrah in the region, interestingly before the Riberadel Duero appellation was established.As a consequence, even today, Bodegas Mauro enjoys freedom from theappellation’s rules and has been able to focus on creating his own uniquelyopulent and ripe style of red wine. Bodegas Mauro’s wines have been featuredmore than once among the world’s Top 100 wineries and the estate’s wines havebeen hailed as the standard to aspire to in the region.
